Dorothy Barefoot, 81, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Born August 2, 1929 in Raleigh, FL, she was a daughter of the late Ira P. and Elsie J. Hatch.
She was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Barefoot in 1997.
She is survived by daughters, Betty Jo Avera of Destin, FL and Lisa Barefoot Howard of Owensboro; sons, Don and Ronnie Avera both of Tampa, FL, Wayne Avera of Owensboro and
Bobby Avera of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Teddy, George, Nigel, Crystal, Jessica, Michael, Bryanna and Donielle and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 24 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Saturday after 9:00am at the funeral home.
