Dorothea Valoras Smith

Dorothea Valoras Smith, 95, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born in Evansville, Mrs. Smith attended the University of Louisville and graduated from the Spencerian Business College. She had been an auditor for the Louisville Trust Bank. A member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, she enjoyed gardening and flowers and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by husband, Harry D. Smith, Jr., her son, Harry D. Smith III, and her parents Valoris Lee McWilliams and Edith Haswinkel McWilliams.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter Dolores Smith Fogle and her husband William of Owensboro and her nieces, Bobbi Smith of North Haven, CT and Marjo Crowe of Pittsburgh, PA.

The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be 12:00 noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
