Doris Bailey Trantham

Doris Bailey Trantham, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in Gainsboro, Tennessee to the late George Cecil and Dorothy Ruth Loftis Bailey.

Doris was a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated volunteer at the hospital for 19 years and employed for several years at Kuntry Krafts. When the children were young she also helped with Girl Scouts. Doris was a loving and dedicated wife and mother who will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Bailey.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Bob Trantham, Sr.; children, Joe B. Trantham, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Weaverville, NC, Wanda Bennett and her husband, Billy of Auburndale, FL, Bryan Trantham and his wife, Diana of Black Mountain, NC, Kim Sinner of Lake Wales, FL, Allison Johnson of Carthage, TN and Jack Trantham and his wife, Michele of Lake Wales, FL; grandchildren, Brandy, Ashley, Hailey, Dee, Andy, Marsha, David, Laura, Hannah, Macy, Beth, Katherine and Lynnsey ; Jaxson and eleven other great-grandchildren.

The service will be 9 AM Saturday, May 27 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and after 8:30 Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
