Doris R. Sunderman, 85, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 21, 1922 to the late Frank and Pearl Kelly Rogers in Danville, KY, moved to Louisville, KY from 1949-1978, moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL from 1979-1997 and moved to Owensboro in 1998. She was a loving wife and homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dee Sunderman in 2006, and a son, David Sunderman in 1979.
Survivors include her son, John R. Sunderman of Stuart, FL; a step-son, Bill Sunderman of Columbia, MD; an ex-daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sunderman of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Tracy Ioia, Nicole and Jonathan Sunderman and Alex Greenwood; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Lindsey Ioia, Logan and Bridgette Mischel; two sisters, Wilma Shields of Batavia, OH and Betty Norvell of Danville, KY.
Services will be 9:00 AM Friday at Peace Lutheran Church with visitation from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM EST at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY on Friday.
