Doris McDaniel Slaven

Doris McDaniel Slaven, 68, went to be with the Lord on November 14th, 2013. She was born in Owensboro on May 23rd 1945 to the late Ray and Vevoleen McDaniel. Doris was of the Christian faith and was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ. Doris was a woman full of life, having never met a stranger; she had many, many friends. She would organize some of these friends and play different types of games like bingo, bunco, and canasta. Doris also loved cooking, watching UK basketball and going fishing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years Robert "Bobby" Slaven; a daughter, Jennifer Slaven Mosley of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Brittany Slaven Mosley (Jeff York) and Robert Mosley; great grandchildren, Briley Barnett and Breanna Cooper all of Bowling Green; a brother, Larry McDaniel (Sherri) of Owensboro; a sister, Pat Ponsford (Darrel) of Summerville, FL; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday November 18th 2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Jimmy Bunch officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday November 17th, 2013 and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday
