Doris Marie Shutt, 61, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System after a 14 year battle with kidney failure and heart disease. She graduated from Paxton High School in Jacksonville, FL, had worked at the Messenger-Inquirer and in nursing services at Owensboro Mercy Health System, and was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Shutt was a loving wife and mother and a proud grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Groth and Louise Holt Arnette, and two brothers, David Groth and Donald Arnette.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Terry M. Shutt; sons, Michael Shutt of Owensboro and Brant Shutt and his wife Lynda of Murray, KY; grandchildren, Kyra and Kenna Shutt of Murray, KY; and her brother, Joe Groth and his wife Diane of Middleburg, FL.
Services will be held at Noon on Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Brother Eugene Howard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
