Doris Ann Hoak, 87 of Owensboro, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mrs. Hoak was a native of Niles Ohio, born to the late E. Ross and Ann Mae (Shoff) Adgate. She was a florist in the 100 year old family business, E. Ross Adgate & Son Florist in Niles prior to coming to Owensboro. She loved the Lord, and was overwhelmed by his graciousness, and she spread that gracious influence, expressing her love to her family and everyone. She enjoyed mentoring many younger ladies. She was a musician, playing the piano many years and an excellent cook. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Niles, and a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Owensboro. Her husband, Wallace Keith Hoak preceded her in death in 2008.
Surviving are her sons; C. Keith and Juanita Hoak of Plano, TX, Tim and Camilla Hoak of Owensboro, and Bob and Bobbi Jo Hoak of Westerville, OH., Grandchildren; Benjamin, Aaron, and Jonathan Hoak, Michelle Heidrich, and Melissa Crum, 10 great-grandchildren, and a brother; Charles Ross Adgate of LaHabra, CA.,
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2010 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Ted Christman officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Heritage Christian School.
