Doris Main Hancock Colbert

Doris Main Hancock Colbert, 76, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 03, 2013, at Hermitage Rehabilitation. She was born in Daviess County to the late Ralph P. and Carrie Jones Main. Doris was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, had worked for Dr. R.J. Phillips for 21 years and then with Owensboro Mercy Health System until 1994. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and reading. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Colbert and a brother, Ralph E. Main, Sr.

Survivors include her children, Monty G. Hancock, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Hartford, Gregory W. Hancock and his wife Sherrie of Owensboro, Cynthia K. Machala and her husband Vaclav of Hartford, and Elizabeth A. Shouse and her husband Dean of Owensboro; sister, Joyce Muncy and her husband Wade of Owensboro; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Noon on Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
