Dora Lee Saalwaechter

November 25, 1920 — October 28, 2009

Dora Lee Saalwaechter, 88 of 7449 Highway 60 West, Owensboro, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at her home. Dora was born in Reed, Kentucky to the late Albert and Jennie (Peters) Adams. She was retired from Daviess County Schools after 19 years. She was a member of Stanley Baptist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star # 253 in Stanley, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Her husband, C.M. Saalwaechter preceded her in death in 1968, a son; Perry Lane Saalwaechter in 1976, as well as a daughter-in-law; Dixie Saalwaechter in 2006 and a sister; Norma Meriweather.

Surviving are her sons; Marvin "Sonny" (Sybal) Saalwaechter of Utica, Joe Lynn (Alesha) and Dale Wayne Saalwaechter both of Owensboro, daughters; Carolyn Sue (Ray ) Harney and Jennie Kay Saalwaechter, both of Owensboro, grandchildren; Harlan and Susannah Harney, and Steven, Abbey and Josi Saalwaechter, great-grandchildren; Rachel Harney, Ashley Bullington, Perry Harney, Sydney Saalwaechter, and Ashton Robertson, 3 great-great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 14 step great- grandchildren, and 8 step great -great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Ted Christman officiating with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.,with Eastern Star services at 6:00 PM, visitation will be after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Stanley Baptist Church.
