Dora Catherine Turner Dahill, 73, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday April 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November, 24, 1940 in Hancock County to the late Dot "Pappy" and Mary Ellen Glass Lyons. Cathy was of the Christian faith and worked in the food service industry and retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital. She was a very sweet and loving woman who never met a stranger. Spending time in the kitchen was her specialty and if not there she could be found watching game shows on television. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant daughter Teresa Jo Turner; a great grandson, Blaine Jewell; brother, Earnest Lyons
; and sister, Sue Newton.
Survivors include son; Richard (Melanie) Turner; daughters, Kathy (Charlie) Jewell, Karen Turner, and Penny Turner; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren all of Owensboro.
Expression of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the Dora Dahill Memorial Fund.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 6, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday April 5, 2014 and after 12:00 on Sunday. Burial will follow at Roseville Cemetery.
