Donell H. Peay

Donell H. Peay, Sr. 68, of 2110 Arlington Park Blvd., Owensboro, died Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born January 18, 1935 in Penrod, Ky. He was a 1954 graduate of Daviess Co. High School. He retired from the United States Marines in 1973 with the rank of Staff Sergeant after 20 years of military service. He was a member of W.J.C.R. Church in Upton, Ky. His interests included fishing, camping, hunting, woodworking, and collecting coins, knives, and stamps. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvis G. Peay on June 15, 1975.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma Jean Peay, 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Donell & Ginger Peay, Jr. of Belews Creek,, N.C., David & Misty Peay of Owensboro, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie & Joe Russell of Owensboro, Diana & Kenny Rodgers of Fordsville,. and Doris & John Nafrady of Maceo, his mother, Dessie J. Peay of Owensboro, 1 brother & sister-in-law, Charles & Belinda Peay of Havelock, N.C., 1 sister & brother-in-law, Sue & Sammy McCanless of Owensboro, and 13 Grandchildren, Kristy, Brandi, Josh, Jonathan, Amanda, K.J., Nikki, Stephen, Corey, Rusty, Ben, Austin, and Timmy, and 3 Great Grandchildren, Cody, Phoenix, and Jacob.
Services will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, September 8, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and after 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess Co. Diabetes Coaltion, P. O.
