Donald Eugene Snead

Peacefully at rest, Donald (Don), 59, passed to our Father in Heaven after a valiant battle with cancer at the home of Donald & Judith Anderson in Philpot, Ky. on Saturday, June 10, 2006. He was born on October 13, 1946 in Daviess Co., Ky. Don lived and worked in Paducah, Ky. and was employed by N & N Machine. He also owned his business, IBMR Machines in Paducah. He was a Vietnam veteran serving back to back tours as a Navy Seabee. He was an Art Major at Brescia College and had many interests including his great love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, his horses, and many animals. He also loved music, painting, sculpting, carving, and restoring automobiles. He especially loved to make people laugh and smile, and he lived life to the fullest. The family wishes to thank all his dedicated and loving friends for their support and kindness. He was preceded in death by his father, Guthrie Snead.

Surviving is his mother, Mabel Snead, he was a loving and devoted father to his three daughters, Heather Lindemann and son-in-law Larry of West Liberty, Ill., Jessica Guy-Snead of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Morgan Guy-Snead of Tamworth, N.H. He will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters, Robert (Bob) and wife Joetta Snead, Guthrie and wife Brenda Snead, Jr., and Paula Payne, all of Owensboro, and Judith and husband Donald Anderson of Philpot, five grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, Nicole, Lindsey, and Larry Lindemann, Jr., nine nephews, four nieces, and four great nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 13, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 696 at the graveside.
