Donald E. Mason

Donald E. Mason, 70 of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on February 18, 1942 in Daviess Co. to the late William S. and Hazel Smith Mason. He was a member of the Salvation Army and was retired from Owensboro Municipal Utilities after 29 years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and loved bowling, playing cards, softball, basketball, volleyball, and riding scooters and motorcycles. Donald was also a member of the "Keenagers" at the Salvation Army and enjoyed driving them on trips. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Mason on April 30, 2006 and a brother, Bobby Mason in 1973.

Surviving are two sons, Darrell (Margie) Mason of Masonville and Travis (Angiy) Mason of Owensboro, two daughters, Cheryle (Mike) Farmer of Masonville and Carol (Scott) Goins of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Sarah and Jessica Mason, Trenton Farmer, and McKenna and Sophia Mason, a sister, Martha (James) Dennison of Owensboro, and a brother, Billy M. (Bonnie) Mason of Owensboro.

Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, March 13, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family has also requested in memory of Donald, they would like people to donate blood to the Western KY Regional Blood Center located at 3015 Old Hartford Rd., Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
