Donald Ray Jones

Donald Ray Jones, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026 at his home. He was born April 26, 1942 in Daviess County to the late Owen C. and Dorothy Armes Jones. Donald was retired after 40 years as a truck driver for the Green Coal Company. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Westerns especially with John Wayne. He was also preceded in death by three children, James Jones in 2016, and Virgina Jones and Donna Sikes, both in 2023, a brother, Owens Jones, Jr., and a sister, Shirley Lewellen.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Jane Bolton Jones; a daughter, Jane L. Jones Cox and husband Michael of Lewisport; three grandchildren, Cody Jones and Shanes Sikes, both of Owensboro, and Baylee Taylor of Maceo.

Funeral services will be Noon Wednesday, September 23, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Mitch Donohue officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
