Donald Cody Brown

Donald Cody Brown, 75, Of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at his home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers Disease. He was born on May 19, 1936 in Ohio Co., KY to the late Jesse James and Alpha Mitchell Brown. He was retired from C.S.X. Railroad after 31 years with the bridge and building department and worked as a bridge tender. He was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping for furs, and shooting and was a member of the Amateur Trapshooters Association. He also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marian McCoy, and three brothers, Norman, Jim, and Dale Brown.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Burk Brown, three daughters, Marian (David) Smith of Lewisburg, Tracy (Arthur) Olsen and Holly (Danny) Hopkins, all of Owensboro, a son, Mitchell (Lynn) Brown of Walker, LA, 10 grandchildren, Lee (April) Sanders, Ryan (Lori) Sanders, Megan (Justin) Mock, Katie Smith, Faustinn (Jake) Weimer, Cody Brown, Julia Brown, Matthew Hopkins, Michael Hopkins, and Bonnie Beth Olsen, 13 great grandchildren, Grant, Grayson, Will, Jaden, Konner, Khloe, Kingston, Isabelle, Kyan, Sage, Grady, Bella, and Carrie Fay, a brother, Vick (Anna Sue) Brown of Cloverport, a sister, Judy Lamar of Cloverport, three sisters-in-law, Jean Brown, Teddy Brown, and Mildred Brown, all of Cloverport, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Cloverport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
