Don Preston Conley

Don Preston Conley, 80, of Owensboro, died February 27, 2016, seeing the great light that he followed for years. He now lives with that Great Light, where there is no sadness, no turning of days.
Don passed away in the care of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born April 25, 1935, in Magoffin County Kentucky, to the late Isiah (Zed) and Estell Conley. Don, a retired pipefitter and his wife, Grace, were the thirteen year proprietors of the Helton House Bed and Breakfast. Don was a member of Good Shepard Church in Owensboro. Survivors include his wife, Grace Evelyn Helton Conley; daughter, Pamela Conley Fox and husband Albert of Frankfort, KY; sons John Paul Conley, wife Garnett of Fordsville, Ky., and W. David Conley, wife Sandra, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Don P. Conley II, wife Jodi, of Owensboro, Stephanie L. Roberts of Owensboro, Ashlee C. Veit, husband Andrew, of Houston, TX, Alison W. Huggins, husband J. Colt, of Atlanta, GA, James D. Conley of Atlanta, GA, and Emily R. Conley of Fordsville, Ky. He was also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 7 sisters, 1 brother and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation on Monday, Feb. 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation concludes on Tuesday, March 1 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church. Immediately following will be a memorial service commemorating the life of Don, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A fellowship dinner will follow, held in the Fellowship Hall of Good Shepherd Church.
