Diana Moeller, 64, of Owensboro passed away on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 at her home. Diana was born March 28, 1952 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Thomas F. and Mary M. Dorsten Moeller. She graduated from Ft. Loramie High School and then continued her education at Wright State University, then attended and graduated from George Peabody College for teachers (Vanderbilt University) in Nashville, Tn. With a B.S. in education, and received her Master's degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. Diana then taught at Stanley Elementary for one year before moving to Tamarack Elementary in Owensboro where she taught kindergarten and 5th grade for 26 years before she retired in 2002.
She was a member of Ky. Teachers retirement association, worked political voting polls for several years, also for many years she belonged to the Ky. Kindergarten association and Ky. Social studies council. Diana was a member of the animal shelter for several years, girl scout leader for many years, and after retiring from teaching she volunteered at Tamarack for several years and was named volunteer of the year at the school. Diana enjoyed gardening, watching old movies, reading and traveling to other countries as well as the United States which she has visited 41 of the 50 states. She has also visited all the Presidents birth places and all Civil War battle sites.
Diana was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Moeller.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Judy Lear and her husband Keith of Bradford, Ohio, Angela Young and her husband Ron of Sidney, Ohio, and Joyce Aselage and her husband Dennis of Minster, Ohio; 12 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will begin at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Michael's Cemetery in Ft. Loramie, Ohio.
