Denver Flener, 81, of Owensboro died Sunday, May 26, 2002 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The Baizetown (Ohio County) native was a member of First Baptist Church. He retired from Green River Steel where he worked as a bricklayer for over 20 years; he also worked as a homebuilder. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 130 of Owensboro and enjoyed woodworking, especially with walnut.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Violet Daphine Walker Flener; two sons, Dennis Edward Flener of Evansville and Donald Ray Flener of Sublimity, OR; a daughter, Debbie June Hudson of Philpot; six grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 3 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 8 P.M. on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday. Masonic services will be at 7 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
