Denny Allen Satterly

Denny Allen Satterly, age 72, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in Lawrenceburg, KY on May 26, 1940 to the late Bruce and Lelia Satterly.

Denny graduated from Western High School and then went on to graduate from Eastern Kentucky University. He worked as a teacher for Anderson and Boone County Schools and then went on to work for the Kentucky Department of Parks retiring as a general manager. Denny enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR, collecting vintage cars and playing with his grandchildren. Denny was of the Baptist faith, a Kentucky Colonel and an Admiral of Waterways.

He was also preceded in the death by his brother, Lonnie Satterly; his sisters, Rita Satterly Curtsinger, and Cindy Satterly Sea.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Satterly; his son, Nathan Satterly ( Beth) of Owensboro; his daughters, Robyn Satterly Meredith ( Hugh) and Lori Lynn Satterly both of Central City; his brothers, Eunice Satterly ( Donna) and Kevin Satterly (Sharon) both of Lawrenceburg and Bobby Satterly ( Doris) of Frankfort; his sister, Libby Satterly Sea ( Gary) of Lawrenceburg. He is also survived by grandchildren, Seth and McKenna Meredith, Connor and Noah Satterly.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment following at Rose Hill Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to
charities of the donor's choice.
