Dennis Edward Liggett

Dennis Edward "Denny" Liggett, 59 of Woodlane Drive Philpot, Ky., died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at his home. Mr. Liggett retired from General Electric as a manufacturing engineer after 36 years. Since retirement in 2002 he had worked part time at Southern States and Lowe's. He was a member of Owenboro Christian Church A faithful servant and loved by everyone, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, NASCAR and U.K. Basketball.

His father Merle E. Liggett preceded him in death, as well as his father in law, William E. Ringer.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Susan L. (Ringer) Liggett, children; Wendi S. (Tim) Morgan of Owensboro, Mark E. (Pam) Liggett of Louisville, Jennifer R. (Jeremy) Hellard of Lexington, grandchildren; Megan and Jonathan Brantley and Alexis Morgan of Owensboro, Luke and Will Liggett of Louisville, Grayson and Sophie Hellard of Lexington, his mother; Lucette Liggett of Danville, IL., brothers; Rick (Linda) Liggett and Gary (Theresa) Liggett of Westville, IL., and Pat (Patty) Liggett of Newton, MS., mother-in-law; Mary M. Ringer of Georgetwn, IL. and cousins; Greg and Melinda Eaton of Romeoville, IL.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Myke Templeton officiating, and burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Owensboro Cancer Research at OMHS, or to Hospice Association Memorial Fund.
