Dena Cowgell

Dena Cowgell, 94, of Owensboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Born in Owensboro on August 27, 1916, she was a member of First Baptist Church and loved all the ladies in her Sunday School Class. She loved spending time with her family and friends, along with traveling, sewing and decorating. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Arthur D. Cowgell, Jr. in 2005 and two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include daughters, Joy Jenkins of Owensboro, Donna Johnson and Patti Mulloy of Louisville, and Jane Hocker of Del Ray Beach, FL; grandchildren, Pamela Faith Jackson, Tammy Faith Bradley, Christopher Faith, Cindi Cambron, Laurence D. Cambron, James Howard, Charles Stevenson, Ridley Sandidge, and Lane Sandidge; ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services are 12 noon Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and after 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church.
