Dena Gayle Alvey, 65, of Owensboro passed away on Monday, June 16, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Tell City, Indiana native was born April 30, 1960, to the late Sherman Virgil Russell and Rev. Catherine Simpson Russell. In addition to her parents, Dena also was preceded in death by three of her siblings, Bob Russell, Janice Thomas, and Diane Bolin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of almost 47 years, Timothy Alvey; three children, Brian Alvey and his wife, Amber of Florence, SC, Rev. Robert Alvey and his wife, Belinda of Owensboro and Kristina Alvey; seven grandchildren, Christian Alvey, Karina Eichhoff (Noah), Elijah Alvey (Rachel), Jaela Alvey, Parker Alvey, Kennedy Alvey, and Collin Alvey; three great grandchildren; two siblings, Martha DeWitt and Sherman Russell Jr.; sister-in-law, Gail Russell; several nieces and nephews.
