Deloris Ann "Mama Lois" Goins

Deloris Ann (Bidwell) Goins, 62, of 4025 Hawthorne Dr., passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 11, 2009 surrounded by her loving family after a nine year battle with breast cancer. She was born on October 5, 1946 in Daviess Co., Ky. Deloris was a licensed practical nurse at Owensboro Medical Health System for 40 years, where she loved taking care of the newborn babies. She was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church and a previous long time member of Seven Hills Baptist Church. Deloris loved scrapbooking, playing bunco, shopping, spending special times with family on Birthdays and holidays, eating out with special friends, and traveling, especially with her friends at Golden Partners.

She was preceded in death by her parents Luther James and Mary Marie (Hanks) Bidwell, a brother, Charles Wayne Bidwell, a sister, Janice Faye Bidwell, and a very special aunt, Clara Mae Ada Hanks.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Darrell T. L. Goins, a daughter, Michelle Lee (Shelly) Goins Johnson and husband Chuck, a son, Jason James Goins and wife Michelle, all of Owensboro, five granddaughters, Jordan and Madison Johnson, Danielle and Alicia Roller, and Jennifer Goins, a sister, Barbara "Barb" Shadwick and husband Bob and a brother, Michael Bidwell and wife Carolyn, all of Owensboro, a sister-in-law, Ann Bidwell of Macon, GA, nieces, Fran King (Trey) and Marquita Self (Tim), all of Macon, Christy Nix (Billy), Amy Bidwell, and Dusty Standbridge (Tim), all of Owensboro, two nephews, Rob Shadwick (Danielle) of Princeton, IN, and Tristen Bidwell of Owensboro, and her special friends, Doris Banks, Thelma Hinton, Melinda Cornell, Carole Storm, Joel and Diane Brewer, Donnie and Bonnie Brown, Tracy and Arthur Olson, Jack and Patty Smith, and all her family of co-workers for 40 years in the nursery.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, April 15, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
