Delmon Earl Harley, Sr., 75, of Owensboro, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Henderson County native retired from the United States Navy in 1967 having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. After returning to Kentucky, he retired from ALCOA Aluminum where he worked for 22 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and NASCAR Racing.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Berniece Gibson Harley; four sons, Delmon Earl Harley, Jr., Darrell Eugene Harley, James Douglas Harley, and John Stewart Harley, Sr. all of Owensboro; a daughter, Elaine Avis Harley of Owensboro; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Gibson of Henderson and Joyce Stinnett of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
