Della Clymer Oost, 89, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home. Born June 12, 1928 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late Joe A. and Annie A. Beard Clymer. Mrs. Oost was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy/Family Worship Center where she participated in many activities. She was former owner of the Cadillac Motel and Restaurant, was a Kentucky Colonel, and was past president and board member of the Elizabeth Munday Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed reading, crafts and quilt making, along with volunteer work.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Reubin Clester Oost who was a Minister and Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy; sons, Richard Oost and Bradley Oost; a sister, Christine Powell; and a grandson, Aaron Oost.
Surviving are grandchildren, Terric (Amanda) Oost, Michael (Tabitha) Oost, and Matthew Oost all of Owensboro, Chris (Lera) Moncrief of Minooka, IL and Jacqueline Moncrief of Plano, IL; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Ashby of Owensboro; and daughter-in-law, Mary Oost of Plano, IL.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Jack Carter officiating. Burial will be in Brushy Fork Cemetery in Panther. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and after 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
