Deeny Monroe Gilmore

Deeny Monroe Gilmore, 87, of Owensboro, KY died Monday, June 13, 2011, at his residence. He was a heavy equipment operator with Mid America Terminal, and enjoyed working in the garden and helping others. Mr. Gilmore was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Bonnie Lou Gilmore; a son, George Gilmore; a daughter Nadine Ranson; and his parents Lee and Maddie Jackson Gilmore.

Survivors include his children, Bobby Gilmore (Trisha and Haylie), Benjamin Atkinson, Bessie Kay Luttrell, and Billie Wilhite (Vince); 15 grandchildren; step-children, Sheree Evans (Paul), Karen Austin (Gary), and Kenny Parrish (Leslie); 3 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Special thanks to his loving care giver, Debra Poiles.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
