Debra Lynn Burden

Debra Lynn Burden, 72, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born November 6, 1952 in Daviess County to the late Autry Lee and Cecelia Rose Troglen Ray. Debra had worked for the Audubon Area Community Services in child care development, was retired from the Daviess County School System after 25 years, and had worked as a real estate agent. Debra grew up and lived in Maceo for 42 years before moving to Owensboro. She loved taking care of grandchildren, working in the yard, flower gardening, and was an avid shopper. She also enjoyed decorating for the holidays especially Christmas and eating out with her sisters. Debra was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleaders at their various sports events.

Debra was also preceded in death by three brothers, Randall Ray, Floyd Ray, and Tim Ray and his wife Belinda, and two brothers-in-law, Fred Hall and Chuck Walker.

Surviving are her children, son Ronald Andrew Burden (Stacey) of Owensboro, daughters Joy Lindsey Buckler (Keith) of Louisville and Carlie Burden of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Dillon and Kaleb Lindsey of Louisville, Ella and Shelby Burden, and Princeton Phillips and Jacari Eaves, all of Owensboro; four sisters, Martha Hall of Owensboro, Dee Walker of Jacksonville, Florida, Charlene Powers (Duck) and Madonna Babb (Robert), all of Maceo and a brother, Jerry Ray (Sheila) of Weaverville, South Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Ray of Maceo; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services for Debra will be 10 AM Wednesday, May 21 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM until 7 PM with prayers at 6:30 PM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9 AM until the time of the service at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.
