David Scott ''Chalk'' Welch, age 40, of Hammond, Indiana, formerly of Owensboro, died Sunday, September 30th, in Owensboro. Mr. Welch was a tree cutter for Howards Tree Service in Hammond, Indiana. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he loved watching sports and car racing. He also liked to play pool and cards.
Mr. Welch is survived by his mother and step-father, Ruby Carter and Herbert Worth of Owensboro ; his father and step-mother, Robert Allen and Betty Gilstrap Welch of Ohio County ; a brother , James Allen Welch of Owensboro; two sisters , Sharon Griffith and Norma Welch, both of Owensboro. Mr. Welch also has two nieces, a nephew, two great nieces, and two aunts surviving him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 3rd, at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2nd, from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. until the funeral time at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the David Welch Memorial Fund, 900 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
