David Glenn Tromly, Sr., 64, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016, while under the care of Hospice of Western KY. He was born June 30, 1951 in Daviess Co. to the late Aubrey "A. W." and Elizabeth Clark "Peggy" Tromly. He was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and was retired from Green River Steel after 29 years. David was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #4959 where he had served as recording secretary for three years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing trivia pursuit and cards, and was an avid U.K. basketball fan. David was also preceded in death by a brother, Aubrey "Clarkie" Tromly, infant brother and sister Michael and Martha Tromly, and his father-in-law, William Sid Clark, Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Karen Clark Tromly, his son, David Glenn "Dave" Tromly, Jr. of Owensboro, two daughters, Melissa Renee Martin and husband Brent of Columbus, GA and Maghan Neil Fares and husband Wes of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Daniel King, Ethan, Mason, and Helena Martin, Lincoln Tromly, and Ava Fares, a brother, Thomas Norman Tromly of Louisville, four sisters, Dorothy Ann Fleischmann and husband Gene of St. Joseph, Susan Leigh Jones and husband Randall of Owensboro, his twin Mary Lynn Maglinger and husband Danny of Owensboro, and Julie Beth Wheatley of Owensboro, and his mother-in-law, Anna Lee Clark of Owensboro.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 4, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 7:00 P.M. and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
