David Richard Sturgeon

David R. "Pete" Sturgeon, 81, of Owensboro, passed away June 25, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born August 8, 1936 in Albion, IL to the late Herbert and Carrie Ellen Sturgeon. David served in the Air Force for four years after graduating high school, where he was a staff sergeant and a crew chief on a B-47. After his service, he worked for Commonwealth Aluminum as a foreman for 24 years, before retiring. He was a go-to person for the family any time there was something that needed to be fixed. David could fix anything. His family relied on him and he always wanted to take care of them. He enjoyed wood-working and loved walking Pat's dogs. David was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Margaret Sturgeon and Carolyn Sue Sturgeon and brother, Kenneth Mac Sturgeon.

He is survived by David A. Sturgeon Sr.; grandchildren, D.J. Sturgeon, Sara Hodge, Taylor Sturgeon, Autumn Sturgeon; brothers, Harold Sturgeon, Herbie Sturgeon and Wayne Sturgeon; sister, Lou Alice Finley and Ex-wife, Pat Sturgeon.

Services will be 6:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.
