David Royce Strayn

David Royce Strayn, 61, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on January, 10, 2015. David was born in Gary, IN to Gillie Royce and Shirley Fergie Strayn on October 8, 1953. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and was a strong Christian man. He was also a Boilermaker with Local #40. David loved to whittle, sing, fish, and hunt. Most of all he loved his daughters and his grandchildren and spending time with them.

David is preceded in death by his father, Gillie Royce Strayn

Survivors include his daughters, Jeffie (Jacob) McKay and Samantha Strayn; grandchildren, Desiree Strayn, David Gipson, Noah Lambert, Cody Gipson, Daniel McKay, and Isaac McKay; mother Shirley Strayn; sisters, Angela Burch, Kathy Brown, Marlys (Steve) McDaniel, and Peggy Strayn; and a special canine friend Tootsie.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family of David R. Strayn.

A funeral Mass will be 2 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Visitation will be from 10 am until 1:30 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
