David S. Reynolds, 75, of Owensboro, died Sunday, February 12, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family, friends, and his beloved Westies, Andy and Amy. He was born in Daviess County to David L. Reynolds and Margaret Griffin Reynolds McLean. David graduated from Daviess County High School, and worked as a payroll clerk for Green River Steel for 22 years. He spent a great deal of time raising and showing Chow Chow dogs, often receiving "Best in Show" awards, including the top Chow Chow award at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. David was a member of the Clermont Kennel Club, Chattanooga Kennel Club, Lexington Kennel Club, Evansville Kennel Club, and the American Kennel Club. He was a Methodist and an avid antique collector. David spent a great deal of time traveling and dinning with family and friends, and although not related by blood, he considered his friends to be an important part of his family.
David was preceded in death by his life partner of 54 years, Don Aull; mother, Margaret Griffin Reynolds McLean; and aunt, Hannah Griffin Chappell
Survivors include his father, David L. Reynolds of Wheatland, WY; siblings, Joy Beth McLean Emerson of Owensboro, Carolyn McLean Boarman of Lake Eustis, FL, Dan Griffin McLean of San Antonio, TX, and Hannah Jill McLean Litherland (Bob) of Lewisport; nephews, Bradley Edward Gough of Owensboro and Alan Davis Emerson (Sarah) of Madisonville; nieces, Meg Hudson Washington (Tim) of New Albany, IN, Claire McLean of San Antonio, TX, Meredith Baxter (Shane) of Temple, GA, Erin McLean of San Antonio, TX, and Molly Boarman of Owensboro; great-nieces and great-nephews, McKenna Gough, Caleb Washington, Ethan Baxter, Noah Washington, and Jane Emerson; and many wonderful friends who enriched his life.
Services will be Noon Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
