Mr. David Puckett, 55, of 2925 Plymouth Place, Owensboro,died Friday, January 09, 2004, at his home. He was born September 30, 1948, to the late Fred and Hattie Boyd Puckett, in Daviess County. He retired from OMU after 31 years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era. A member of the Owensboro Christian Church, he enjoyed his music, particularly playing his drums and listening to John Fogerty,
He was preceded in death by a grandson in 1997, Clay Maxwell Rhoades, and a nephew in 1971, Michael Scott Puckett.
Survivors include, his wife of 19 years, Janice Puckett, two sons, Scott Rhoades of Owensboro, and David Anthony Puckett of Louisville, one daughter, Amy Duncan of Brandenburg, KY, three grandchildren, Portia Mesker, Clint Rhoades, and Celeste Duncan, one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Chris Puckett of Owensboro, his step-mother, Marie Puckett of Owensboro, three step-brothers, including Steven Payne of Owensboro, two step-sisters, including Doris Shock of Owensboro, also four nieces and two nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 12, 2004, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Resurrection cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday, and after 8:30 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY, 42301.
