David Allen Payne, 62, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009 at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. on September 9, 1947 to the late James Russell and Mary Ruth Boarman Payne. He was of the Catholic faith, the owner and operator of the Eight-Ball Restaurant, and was a licensed certified public accountant. He graduated from Brescia University and then received his M.B.A. from Indiana University. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. David loved hunting and fishing, spending time at his cabin at Rough River, and was an avid sports fan. He was also preceded in death by his brother Michael Thomas Payne in 2004.
Surviving are two brothers, Ron (Denise) Payne and Pat (Sandy) Payne, all of Owensboro, three sisters, Sheila (Tom) Moberg of Gallatin, TN, Paula (Stacey) Payne of Lexington, and Bonnie (Gary) Bivins of Owensboro, 17 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and his special friends, Ronnie, Susie, and Ryan Hamilton.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 7, in the chapel of the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday with prayers at 5:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
