David Glennon Payne

David Glennon Dickie Payne, Sr., 62, of 5014 Jones Road, Owensboro, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at his home. He was born June 23, 1943 to the late Henry L. and Leanora OConnell Payne in Breckenridge County. He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, a member of Local 633 Pipefitters Union for over 30 years. He loved doing family genealogy, watching his grandchildren play baseball at Southern Little League and enjoyed all sports including baseball, basketball, football and auto racing.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Edwards in 2003 and Marilyn Payne in 1956.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Payne; daughters, Stacy Hart and her husband, William, Jennifer Wright and her husband Tony, all of Owensboro; his son, Glenn Payne, Jr. of Owensboro; grandson, Logan Wright, grandchildren, Justin and Jeffery Hart, Rebekah and Kelsey Payne and Nicholas Wright; a brother, James Payne and his wife, Sue of Owensboro; his sisters, Freida Basham and her husband, Paul of Pleasure Ridge Park, KY, Wanda Kauffeld and her husband, George of Elizabethtown, Elaine Taul and her husband, Dan of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews; his best friends, Rick and Shirley Medley.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Pius Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday and after 10:00 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 319 West 10th Street, Owensboro, KY, 42301.
