David Maglinger, 56, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, October 12, 2009 at his residence. Born in Daviess County to the late Hoover and Anna Hedges Maglinger, David was a very talented musician and photographer, he had worked for Custom Audio Video for 12 years. He began playing professionally at the age of 15; his love was the bass guitar even though he was well versed in other instruments. He spent his time writing songs, doing studio recordings and playing in bands such as The Jades, The Mags, Rueben Flesh, Front Runner, and Midnight Flyer with his sister, for Charlie Mattingly at the Yellow Rose, for Goldie, and for Infatuation: Rod Stewart Tribute Band with his brother and sister. Music was his life and his lively hood, he liked to spend his free time fishing, was a comedian and fun loving person who loved his family and will be greatly missed by them.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Hughes and her husband Tim of Houston, TX; a brother, Larry and Tammy Maglinger; a sister Debbie Maglinger Dugger; nephews, Curtis and Lisa Maglinger and Brad Maglinger all of Owensboro and Gerren and Kristi Dugger of Carbondale, IL; and a great niece Brooklyn Maglinger of Owensboro.
Services will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
