David Wayne Lemke

David Wayne Lemke, 37, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2015, the same day his grandfather, Harry Lemke was born. David was born in Madisonville on September 2, 1977 to David and Shirley Curry Lemke. He graduated from Apollo in 1996 and worked at Wal-Mart for 18 years. He was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. David was a 16 year member of Stanley Masonic Lodge 878 F&AM and was elected Jr. Deacon. He was also a member of the Rizpah Shrine, Directories Staff, and a past president of The Owensboro Shriners Club. An avid UK Basketball fan, David tried to never miss a game.

David is preceded in death by his sister, Angela "Angie" Lemke, grandparents Harry and Mable Lemke and General and Hattie Curry; and 2 aunts and 1 uncle.

Survivors include his parents, David and Shirley Lemke; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Western Kentucky, the staff and doctors at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, and all those who assisted in David's care.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shriners Hospital For Children in Lexington

The funeral service will be held 12 noon Tuesday June, 16, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation for David will be from 4 until 8 pm Monday with a Masonic Funeral service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue after 9 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
