David E. Dave Kirk, 58 of 486 Teller-Haycraft Lane, Hardinsburg, Kentucky, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. Mr. Kirk was a retired mechanic who loved fishing and NASCAR. He was on the board of directors of Hancock County Game and Fish. He was known for making his hushpuppies for fish frys and barbeques, and was a Jeff Gordon fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfies E. Kirk, and a brother, Edward Ray Kirk. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Sherry Kirk, his mother; Mary Kirk of Owensboro; sons Davy Kirk and Stevie Kirk, at home, and daughters; Danielle (Roger) Overfield of Evansville, IN., Julie Christine Miller of Hawesville, and his son-in-law, Tony Miller of McLean County, step-daughters; Rita and Christina Texas, both of Owensboro, five grandchildren; Kassandra, Emily, Tiffani, Chloe, and Andrew, five brothers; Robert(Margaret) Kirk of Pellville, Jackie (Dorothy) Kirk of Kentucky Lake, J.D. (Levita) Kirk of Hawesville, Roger (Dottie) Kirk, and Randall Kirk, of Owensboro, and a sister, Helen (Eddie) Payne of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 12 pm. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. Richard Meredith officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday.Prayers will be Friday evening at the funeral home.
