David A. Jones

David A. Jones, 62, of Nuckols, Ky., went to sleep in Jesus, March 21, 2016 as the result of a farming accident at the home he shared with his wife, Cathy, and numerous 'fur babies.' Born in Owensboro, September 25th, 1953 to the late Robert A. and Martha Higdon Jones, David and his wife were the co-owners of Fantasy Pet Land and Spa. They operated an animal exhibition business where he and Cathy would take animals to various locations, including the Advent Journey. David had a love for animals. He enjoyed many adventures that included horseback riding and scuba diving in the Caribbean. He was an accomplished woodworker and used his skills to install a new kitchen at The Owensboro Seventh-day Adventist Church where he worshipped. He was a faithful member, an elder, and had accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. His volunteer service included Celebrate Recovery, preaching, and teaching Sabbath School. David loved life, loved to laugh, loved to worship, and was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Jones.

David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Catherine; his aunt, Ruth Payne, who he thought the world of; his brother, Brent Jones and his wife, Donna of Owensboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; his in-laws, Phil and Doris Burton; and brother and sister-in-law Tim and Leslie Burton of Lexington.

Services will 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at The Owensboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2288 Tamarack Road, where visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
