David G. Cheek, 68, of Owensboro, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home. David was born in Daviess County, December 31, 1944 to the late Joseph Glenn and Mary Lou (Bailey) Cheek. He was a retired electrician for IBEW Union Local 1701, and a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Cheek in 2003.
Surviving are two daughters, Kim (Bill) Brown and Jeanne (Tommy) Hall both of Owensboro, his companion, Robin C. Dearing of Maceo, a sister, Cynthia Cheek of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Wesley Brown, Kaci Hall, Zachary Hall, Ashley Hall, Corey Hall, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
