David Nile Cecil

David Nile Cecil, 62, of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born January 1, 1943 in Daviess County, Mr. Cecil was a retired equipment operator and plumber; and a devote christian and ordained minister. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, drag racing, and bird watching. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lillian Cecil Haywood.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margie Carolyn Knight Cecil; a son, Stuart Cecil of Owensboro; two daughters, Amy Payne and Carolyn Cecil both of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Andrea Roberts, Kelsie Roberts, Dylon Cecil, Annah Cecil, Jared Payne and Garret Payne; a brother, Sammy Haywood, Jr. of Hartford; and a sister, Donna Mattingly of Hartford.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2005 and after 9 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
