David Lee Barr

David Lee Barr, 61, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Owensboro to Herman and Ernestine Hamilton Barr.
David worked for the City of Owensboro for nearly twenty years. He retired early due to disability. David then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in history. He enjoyed music and in his early years he toured as a singer with a popular local band. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Barr.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Barr (Clint) of Utica; sons, Steve Barr (Tonya) of Utica and Michael Barr of Owensboro; his father, Herman Barr; mother of his children, Darlene Barr; grandchildren, Cameron, Morgan, Kaidyn, Diva and Avery; siblings, Joanne Barr Stephens, Kay Montgomery, Jim Barr, Barbara Daugherty, Mary Baumgarten and Joey Barr.
The funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday, October 15 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 PM, with prayers at 7 PM, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Brown's Valley.
