Daryl Gene Steinbeck

Daryl G. Steinbeck, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 9, 1932 in Brandon, Iowa, to the late Lon and Nina Kemp Steinbeck. He was retired after 34 years of service as an engineer with the John Deere Co. Daryl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War having served on the U. S. S. Navasota. He was a member of the AmVets, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He had attended Northern Iowa University before starting his career with John Deere. He also had been very involved in Boy Scouting having been a Scout Leader. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing shuffle board at the American Veterans Post #119, and spending time with his family. Daryl was also preceded in death by his brother, Woody Steinbeck in 2012.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Treva Carlson Steinbeck, three sons, Lon and wife Sharon Steinbeck of Owensboro, Linn and wife Missy Steinbeck of Broomfield, Colorado, and Lance and wife Dawn Steinbeck of New Boston, IL, eight grandchildren, Chad Steinbeck, Chelsea Steinbeck Arnsdorf, Robert Michael Steinbeck, Daryl Gene Steinbeck, Crystal Henning, Jessica Conklin, Kyle Conklin, and Jennifer Siddons, and numerous great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 23, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
