Darlene "Gia" Cronk Quinn, 82, of Owensboro died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Elgin, IL to the late Kenneth and Doris Cronk, attended Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and worked as a registered nurse for 36 years at the Patti A. Clay Hospital in Richmond, KY. Darlene was very artistic and enjoyed needlepoint, knitting and drawing. She was a published poet, avid volunteer and a wonderful baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George "Pops" Quinn and a brother, Kenneth Earl Cronk.
Survivors include her children, Mariann Quinn (Tom Patterson) of Cincinnati, OH, Colleen Quinn Taylor (David) of Owensboro and David Robert Quinn (Ren) of Covington, TN; grandchildren, George Nathaniel Taylor (Kim), Emily Mariann Taylor all of Owensboro, Shane David Quinn (Dominique) of Houma, LA, and Chance Zachary Quinn (Deanna Long) of Covington, TN; and great-grandchildren, Christian Hunter Cook, Jada Rhene Cook, Auerora Skiye Quinn, Levi Ford Quinn, and Elliott Nathaniel Taylor.
Services will be 4 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the March of Dimes.
