Darlene Denton

Sister Darlene Denton, 63, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Sept. 5 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 28th year of religious life. She was a native of Louisville.

Sister Darlene was a steadfast friend to many she ministered to, loyal and encouraging, and someone who led others to grow in their faith. She was director of the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center from 1994-97. She was a facilities director for a retreat center in Dayton, Ohio, and an educator in Vine Grove, Hardinsburg, and Louisville. She was a pastoral associate at Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Louisville until retiring earlier this year.
Survivors include her brother, Michael Edward Denton, his wife Becky, and her nieces Laura and Tracey, all of Louisville, and the members of her religious community.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin Wednesday at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Motherhouse cemetery.

Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
