Danny Small

September 20, 1947 — December 26, 2013

Danny "Pops" Small Sr., 66, of Owensboro, passed away December 26th 2013. He was born to the late Arthur and Frances Small on September 20th 1947 in Daviess County. Mr. Small retired as a bookkeeper from Schrecker Supply Company after 30 years and also was very active in the Jaycees during their existence in Owensboro. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed baseball, fishing, bowling, and cornhole. Danny was a happy man who loved to talk and never met a stranger. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Including his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Roebuck, brothers; Rev. Arthur Lee Small Jr. and Donnie Small, and his sister Virginia Millay.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years Elaine Small, children Jeff Small (Valerie), Danny Small Jr. (Faye), Kim Roebuck (Joe) and Stephanie Lancaster, all of Owensboro, grandchildren; Jonathon Roebuck, Jordan Roebuck, Josh Small, Brandi Roebuck, Jacob Small, Ryan Lancaster, and Jessica Small, great grandchildren; Noah Roebuck, Alea Bell, and Elijah Roebuck; sisters; Rosie Cobb and Frances Brookshire, bothers; Charles Small, Bill Small, and Ronnie Small, and his canine companions Spencer and Tyler.

Services will be officiated by Bro. Jason Mayfield at 12:00 noon on Monday December 30th, 2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday December 29th 2013 and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society
