Danny Glenn Grigsby, 52, of Philpot, went to be with his heavenly father and his beloved wife Tammy Jo on Monday, March 7, 2011. He was born on June 11, 1958 in Daviess Co., Ky. He was a professional painter, was of the Baptist faith, but had been attending Owensboro Christian Church with his daughter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son-in-law, playing his guitar with his nephew Brandon, having family gatherings and cookouts, and playing horseshoes and cornhole. He also loved watching his nephews and grandsons play in their sporting events and his granddaughters participating in cheerleading and crosscountry running. Danny always enjoyed inviting family and friends over to his house for the Super Bowl. He also enjoyed watching U.K. Basketball games with his nephew Adam. He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Tammy Jo on August 14, 2008, his father, Denver Grigsby on July 26, 1980, and grandparents Lucy and Verd Grigsby, and Eunice "Grandma D" and Ronald D. Quinn.

He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Grigsby and Danielle Johnson and husband Bay, all of Owensboro, his mother, Mary Theresa Grigsby and her companion George Paulin of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Brittany and Tyren Johnson, Austin Boarman, and Kelsey and Braxton Grigsby, a brother, Rick (Kathy) Grigsby of Philpot, a sister, Sharon Hunter of Marina del ray, CA, mother-in-law, Shirley Gerkin Haynes of Owensboro, Nieces and nephews, Katie Jo Grigsby, Heather and Richie Ray, Brandon and Adam Grigsby, David Michael Gerkin, Jozie Gerkin, Ilima Ray, Dakota "Hurricane" Jones, and Melissa and Duane of CA, a sister-in-law, Debbie (Richard) Ray of Philpot, a brother-in-law, Dave (Carrie) Gerkin of Owensboro, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
