Daniel Ross Shelton, 32, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Owensboro and was a 2004 graduate of Apollo High School.
Daniel served as a Wal-Mart greeter for several years and competed in the Special Olympics. He loved cars and trucks and spent time with a group of friends who shared his interest. Daniel had a big heart and smile. He will be missed by many.
Daniel was preceded in death by grandparents, George and Arlene Clayton, Doris Layton and Bill Shelton.
He is survived by his mother, Brenda Shelton; his father, Eddie Shelton; brothers, Chuck Knisely of Pennsylvania, Matt Shelton (Chelsea) and David Shelton (Sarah), all of Owensboro; a special aunt and uncle who cared for him for many years, Jason and Donna Grant; a niece, Allie Shelton; nephew, Bentley Shelton; and grandfather, Don Layton of Newburgh, IN.
The service will be 10 AM Friday, April 7 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 PM and Friday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
