Daniel Gray Roby, 63 of Owensboro died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 in Owensboro. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on November 1, 1938 the son of William H. and Shirley Gunnels Roby. A son, Kevin Gray Roby, preceded him in death in 1972.
Mr. Roby was the Owner and Operator of King Charles. He was a member of Saint Pius Tenth Catholic Church. He enjoyed Archery, especially 3-D shooting and bow hunting; football, and loved barbecuing for family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Judith Nan Evans Roby; one son, Kris Roby of Owensboro; two daughters, Tina Roby Edge of Owensboro and Mandy Roby Roberts of Murray; five grandchildren; one sister, Leah Kay Harrington of Owensboro; one niece, one nephew and one uncle.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2002 at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Meridith and Father Gerald Baker. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Friday. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
