Daniel H. Miller, Sr., 85, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Halcyon House Hospice in Atlanta, Ga. He was born in Pleasant Ridge, Ky, to the late Dan W. and Sadie Belle Welsh Miller, was a member of First Baptist Church in Owensboro, Ky, attended Kentucky Wesleyan College and served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Miller was the owner of the Dan Miller and Associates Insurance Agency, a member of the National Associations of Life Underwriters, and a member of the Odd Fellows Club. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Eleanor Walser, Arlie Koontz, and Cokie DeLacey.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Anna Layton Funk Miller; his son, Daniel H. Miller, Jr., MD and his wife, Faith of Monroe, La; his grandchildren, Daniel H. "Tres" Miller III and his wife, Samantha of Bowling Green, and Whitney Ott and her husband, Matt of Atlanta, Ga; great-grandchildren, Daniel H. "Lucky" Miller IV, Sadie Merritt Miller, and Joseph Miller Ott and; his brother, Billy Miller, of Satellite Beach, Fl; and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the mausoleum of Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
